Happy belated New Year everyone. 2006
is going to be a big year around here and
there's a lot of changes right around the
corner. With the success of 'Drown out the
Silence' so far, an extra order was placed and
it was an extra BIG order so we saved some money
by getting them in bulk. Long story short, now
we're going to pass that along to the customer
and the CD will now be $10.00. For those of you
who paid $12.00 just know that you had one of
the first 100 copies sold EVER and that's
priceless, right? Well, if not priceless
hopefully it's worth at least 2 bucks. Currently
both Record Rack in Escanaba and Leftovertures
in Manistique are carrying the CD as well as our
on-line store. In the near future I plan to look
into getting the CD into different locations and
when that happens it'll be posted here in the
news. It looks like
www.CDnow.com/www.Amazon.com
will be carrying it soon as well but I will post
more when that is finalized.
Now on to other matters. The website is going to
change a lot in the near future because I'm
going to commit myself to making this a place
full of my music and other neat things. I'm
going to be putting on a bunch of quickly thrown
together cover songs just so people have
something to listen to, PLUS the real reason is
that I want people's opinions on making cover
songs a part of my live shows or not. I also
plan on going through my old 4-track tapes I
recorded between 2000-2004 and putting up some
old demos/covers/song snippets. Especially of
interest is all the demos of the songs for Drown
Out The Silence. I actually wrote a lot of them
quite some time ago and there have been many
changes along the way. To see the old demos then
listen to the finished product is pretty cool
for me at least, so I know I'm looking forward
to that.
And now the biggest announcement of 2006, keep an eye
out for some NEW demos to start showing up
within the next few months! I came upon the
realization that since I'm currently a student
and unable to play many live shows I should do
the next best thing and start getting some new
songs together. I'm very excited about this,
because as I've said before, a lot of Drown Out
The Silence was written quite some time ago. All
of these songs I'm messing with right now are
new, and since my influences have changed a lot
they are very much different from anything I've
done up to this point. I'm planning on going all
out this time around, with electric guitar
throughout and my drumming on all tracks where
drums are featured. So far I have about 5-7
songs written but none recorded. That's about
all I know or can say right now, but I would say
that at the latest I want to have something
released by summer. I guess I'm pushing myself
because even though I love Drown Out The Silence
it only shows a portion of my musical style.
Plus with time and practice I'm becoming a
better musician overall and learning more about
the recording process, so the quality of this
next album should be a big step forward.
Well, I guess that's about it. I plan to have quite a
bit of "stuff" on the site soon. The good people
at Porcupine Designs are busting their butts to
help get the things I think up in my head put
onto the site so keep checking back!
